MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1) You must possess a Class C California driver license valid for operating any two-axle single-motor vehicle and one towed vehicle such as a trailer weighing 6,000 pounds or less. You will also need to have either one year of experience in California state service as a Service Assistant in a warehouse or store.
OR
2) One year of experience assisting in the receipt, storage or issue of materials from a centralized stockroom or warehouse.
Note: Applicants who do not possess the license will be admitted to the examination, but must secure the license prior to appointment.
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Knowledge: You will need to know the methods, practices and equipment used in general warehouse duties including receiving, storing and shipping material and supplies. You must know how to pack and unpack materials, and read and comprehend documents used in receiving and shipping materials in a governmental or commercial organization. You also need to know how to operate a forklift and related handling equipment, and how to take inventory and maintain inventory records.
Abilities: You need to be able to operate a forklift and related handling equipment. You will also need to be able to read and write English at a level necessary to perform your job well, perform accurate math related to warehouse work and follow instructions.
